About Curious Cabinets
Curious Cabinets began as a little corner of imagination in the mind of its founder, Casey Forbes, who has always believed that a book is more than words on a page—it’s a doorway to another world. Casey is a devoted wife to Derek and proud mother to four children: Bradyn, Leela, Cannon, and Cade. Cade, born with an extra spark and an extra chromosome, inspired Casey to become an advocate for the Down Syndrome community, shaping the heart and mission of Curious Cabinets.
What started as a passion for collecting beautiful books and unique treasures soon grew into a dream: creating a place where readers could explore, discover, and experience the joy of storytelling in every sense. Each cabinet in the shop tells its own story—from romance and thrillers to fantasy and mysteries—and our bookish goodie boxes pair hand-picked treats with the stories you choose yourself, turning every purchase into a little moment of magic.
Casey’s dream doesn’t stop online. She hopes to open a brick-and-mortar store in Central, LA, a cozy space where coffee, conversation, and community come together alongside books that inspire and delight. Curious Cabinets isn’t just a bookstore—it’s a space for curiosity, connection, and the belief that every story matters.
We're the Forbes
Curious Cabinets is a family dream. Derek works hard to provide for our crew, while Casey, the shop owner, is an avid reader and aspiring author writing her first interconnected series, The Petals of Midway.
Bradyn loves lacrosse and his truck, Leela enjoys makeup and beauty, Cannon loves to create like his mom, and Cade’s favorite thing is loving everyone he meets.
