About Curious Cabinets

Hi! I'm Casey Forbes--wife, mother, aspiring author, sometimes-podcast host, animal lover, and now business owner. I worked for ten years as a state accountant, a job I am forever grateful for, but have decided to leave behind in pursuit of a passion. That passion? Stories through books. 

When I was young, I'd agree to go to Cortana Mall with my mom only if she'd take me to the bookstore to buy Fear Street books. Then in the sixth grade, Miss Williams introduced me to The Hobbit and the spark I'd had for reading transformed into a flame so bright it couldn't be contained. 

And now, thanks to God--and my husband, Derek--I'm getting to live that dream. Curious Cabinets Bookshop is set to open in June, 2026 at 13623 Hooper Rd, STE D, Central, LA 70818. 

For those who can't make it to Louisiana, I'll offer the same products on this website and happily ship them to you.

Curious Cabinets is a family dream. Derek works hard to provide for our crew, while Casey, the shop owner, is an avid reader and aspiring author writing her first interconnected series, The Petals of Midway.

Bradyn loves lacrosse and his truck, Leela enjoys makeup and beauty, Cannon loves to create like his mom, and Cade’s favorite thing is loving everyone he meets.
